Hello and Welcome to my new Web site! My name is John Barnabas Horne. I was born November 25, 1998 at 8:53 PM after a 33 week stay in my mommy's tummy. When born, I weighed only 3 pounds even and I was 17 1/4 inches long. I am doing wonderfully well I'm told for one so small. I got to go home with my mommy, Terri Horne, and my daddy, John Horne, on December 22, 1998. (My mommy and me on Dec 20, 1998) My first feeding was at Noon on Thanksgiving Day. Now I get to eat every 3 hours! I started out eating 10 cc's. By Saturday, I got hungrier and started eating 15 cc's at every feeding. By Sunday, I was eating a minimum of 21 cc's of formula or mother's milk every 3 hours. By Tuesday I had increased that to 27cc's and managed to breast feed several times that day! Now I eat all I want to, and everything in sight! As of October 9th, I weighed in at about 20 pounds and was a bit over 26 inches long! Praise the Lord! All was not gold, however, the Urologist found a potential problem with one of my kidneys. The tube to the bladder is not fully developed on one kidney and the one way flap at the end of the tube on the other is not fully developed. I was operated on and now both my kidneys are functioning at 100%! (This Picture was taken Dec. 20, 1998) My mommy, Terri, has recovered nicely from a cesarean section and tubal ligation. Unknown to anyone prior to the cesarean section, her uterus had ruptured and had she gone into labor again, neither mommy nor I would have likely survived. Thank you all for your continued prayers, my whole family and I have much for which to be thankful. My pictures were taken by my Grandpa "Papa Paul" (Horne). At least he didn't live up to Great Grandma Edna's nickname for him, "Flash." Thanks Papa Paul for not using that horrible flash so much so I could get some sleep! He insists on calling me "Little John." (I guess I'll get used to him over time. Grandma Debby (Horne) tells me that Papa Paul kind of grows on you.) Everyone else just calls me "J.B." like my mommy, Terri, and my daddy, John, wanted. My Paternal Grandmother, Millie Banks, came all the way from Florence, South Carolina and stayed with my mommy and daddy and me for 4 months before I was born to help do everything around the house. Mommy and I would have never made it if it weren't for her. Thank-You Grandma Millie. We love and appreciate you too! Grandma Millie went back to her home on Monday, November30th and we missed having her and Grandpa Larry here for Christmas! My Maternal Grandparents are Larry & Evelyn Cooper of Bloomington, Indiana. My Maternal Great Grandmother Edna Cooper also lives in Bloomington. And Bloomington is where my mommy, daddy and I live too.
